Today we’d like to introduce you to Dwany Cruz.
Hi Dwany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised by a single mother in New Brunswick, NJ. My mother always wanted the best education for my sister and I. She sent me to private school since I was in kindergarten and when I graduated 8th grade I attended a public school in the city, but it was a public school that was for the smarter kids. I attended this school for four years and when I was nearing my graduation, my father decided to come in the picture and help. He was living in West Palm Beach, FL so I moved with him to West Palm and that’s where my adulthood truly began. My father was working as a billing manager at a rehab center making six figures plus & he helped me get an assistant position at the center, he helped me get into college, & also helped me get my first car. Fast forward a few years my dad loses his job, loses the mini mansion home we have and basically loses everything. We sell the house and with the money, he earned from the house we decided to move to Atlanta. We were acting on the side while in Florida and that was the reason we decided to move to Atlanta back in December of 2017. My dad and I get an agent and we start to audition. In the meantime, I get a job as a server, I’m there for about a year, then I get another job as a salesperson for Xfinity(Comcast) and I’m there for two years.
Covid hits I get let go I have to settle for Doordash for about a year, then I get another server position because I decide not to Doordash. I keep that position for eight months and then I become a car salesman September 1st, 2021. I have been a car salesman for six months now and I can say this has been a blessing. I have been able to help so many folks in the community obtain a vehicle and to be honest, it’s not even about selling the vehicles it’s about connecting with so many different people. Selling the car is just a plus. I am so grateful that I have gone through this journey and I can say that I see myself in this industry for at least the next five years. I am 25 now and I would love to help and give back for the next five years in the car business. My short-term goal is to open up my own dealership, my mid-term goal is to beginning helping and giving back to the community on a larger scale (globally) via selling homes to new homeowners, couples, and/or families across the world. My Long Term Goal is to break generational curses & create long-term generational wealth for my family because I come from a very, very very poor background and I want to show my family and many others around the world that they too can do it. That once they set their minds and DECIDE they too can accomplish anything! Thank you.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A lot of growth. A lot of connecting with self. A lot of tears. A lot of sacrifices. A lot of letting go of old habits and taking on new ones. And above all else a lot of discipline.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I sell both high-end luxurious vehicles and common domestic vehicles. I specialize in connecting with people. I am known for having great customer service, being easy to talk to, and being very personable. I am most proud of the decisions I have made up to this point of my life. What sets me apart from others is that I put my face in the camera when it comes to recording videos & I am also able to connect with both my English Community and my Hispanic community because I do also speak Spanish.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when my sister and I would sit on the couch Saturday and Sunday mornings when we didn’t have school and eat snacks and watch cartoons and our mom would make breakfast and we’d all be there watching tv as a family.
