Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarrian Smith.
Hi Jarrian, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up being the youngest of my single mom’s three boys it was hard trying to convince her to get us all the fire shoes that were out. It was always your too rough on shoes, I can’t afford them or you’ll outgrow those so fast. It absolutely sucked! I definitely understood why she couldn’t do it at the time. As I got older and I was able to start making money on my own, I knew exactly what it was I wanted, SHOES!! And a lot of them. I was about 16 when I started collecting it’s funny because I remember in high school sharing shoes with homies in my neighborhood, it was always easier to get them that way. As I got a little older, I started slipping away from the shoes and venturing off to other things but I always made sure I had Heet on my Feet. I was about 23 when I started having thoughts of reselling. I didn’t even know about “resellers” back then again I was doing other things. I was having a conversation with an old roommate of mine, at the time I was telling him I wanted to start my business selling shoes to people since I love shoes and always have people asking me where and how I got some of the shoes I had. He asked, “What would you call it”? I pondered on his question for a few moments and then it was like I was a deer in headlights. My business name came to life HEETFAYAFEET. By then, the epidemic had started to unfold on the world. I loss my job and I started my new venture of running my own business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but hey that makes it more fun to me at least. I started Heetfayafeet January of 2021, I didn’t have clientele, I didn’t have access to an abundance of shoes either. It was and still is definitely challenging especially when you have other competition. Of course I don’t let that stop me from handling my business. I started venturing out more meeting more people telling the world about Heetfayafeet. I still have struggles from time to time there’s even times I want to give up. If I’m not able to get any shoes that drop or not getting enough pairs is a real bummer because then I have to go to other resellers and pay a higher price which makes it a little harder to sell because now I have to charge more than I would if I got the sneakers at a retail price. It also isn’t good when I’m meeting a new client and don’t have any shoes in his/her size. As I grow and get better and meet more people though I’m learning so much about the shoe game now. I’m a part of this sneaker group on Facebook called “Atatf” it has been a great source for me to go and find a lot of the shoes I now resell through my business. Truly thankful to be a part of such an amazing group that brings other sneakerheads together.
We’ve been impressed with Heetfayafeet, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a sneaker reseller based in Powder Springs, Ga. I specialize in being part of a thriving and growing culture of many individuals that have a passion for buy and or collection sneakers. I’m known for always providing my clients with the hottest sneakers out and leaving them on fire, not literally. I’m proud of believing in my brand and that I can and will be the greatest. I would like others to know that I’m here to provide you with the best and upmost respect, I want my clients to be happy and love every single pair of sneakers they
purchase from me. I also have my own line of apparel t-shirts & beanies as of now, more coming soon. Stay tuned.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Atlanta. I’ve been living here for about 15 years now. The beautiful buildings, landmarks and great food spots are just a few reasons I love our city. It’s also east to make connections in Atlanta I always refer to Atlanta as “baby Hollywood”. If your in the right place at the right time never know who you could meet. I don’t have many dislikes about our city. I do feel like violence has reached an all-time high nowadays. I wish there was more love in the world. The traffic is no joke as well that’s a major dislike but other than that I love being a ATLien!!!
