Conversations with Treyvon Jenkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Treyvon Jenkins.

Hi Treyvon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been more or less on the creative side of things. Throughout high school, I had a passion for video Production and made the decision to major in Video production in college. While attending, I had to take photography classes first, I did and fell in love with that ever since. After intense studying, I honed my craft, found my lane and started putting in work. I started to connect with Other creatives and we put our talents together and here we are.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in life is easy. When you’re dealing with a career, such as photography, You encounter obstacles in every way. Business will be great One Month and plunge the next month but I feel like, with entrepreneurship, that’s what comes with it. It’s been days where I felt as if I wasn’t “Skilled enough” or I fell into the “Comparison game” but I overcame that by just telling myself “no need to try to be like someone else just be you and everything else will fall in place”.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer based in Atlanta. I wouldn’t say I’m known for anything too crazy (yet) but later in the year, I’ll have a more accurate answer. I guess what I’m most proud of is my inability to not give up and keep learning to add new tricks to my arsenal. What sets me apart from others is that I’m a strictly Natural Light Photographer (Sometimes Studio) and I like to make everything look “Vintage and Cinematic”.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
What I learned from Covid is that at any given moment, my business can halt for a long period of time. Over the course of time when Covid started, I started creating multiple different streams of income just in case my photography business dries up. The biggest lesson I learned throughout all of this is that one stream of income isn’t enough.
