Conversations with Jerome Turner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerome Turner.

Hi Jerome, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started the company in 2017. We were essentially just a consulting firm for security guard companies. We would consult with various firms in Florida and Georgia on ways to maximize their profits.

The issue I found was that those same companies were putting profits over people. I felt disheartened by this and realized that I had a niche in this market.

I started the guard services function of the company in 2018. This mindset led to a customer centered niche approach to security guard services.

So in just about three and half years, we have built the company a multi-million dollar operation serving the State of Georgia and subcontracting with other companies in North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely has been a bumpy ride. The biggest challenge is controlled growth. We have the ability to grow exponentially however, such growth creates financial challenges.

We can hire 8-10 new employees to work a new contract for a client and we bill those hours weekly or monthly however, we can’t tell the employees; you have to wait to get paid. In other words, access to inexpensive working capital is a challenge and creates barriers to growth.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Having a 15 years career thus far in law enforcement has been an excellent background for the security profession. It has opened an array of doors for me to branch off and open other businesses and invest in others. I have essentially become a serial entrepreneur.

Father, Businessman, law enforcement officer, and security professional. Those are my titles however; I remain humbled by my success thus far and look forward to scaling the various companies I own and/or operate so that I can continue to inspire, motivate and train others to become self-sufficient business-minded professionals on a full-time basis.

Genuine. Honest. Humbled. Dedicated. Determined. – words that set me apart from others. When working with or for me, you are guaranteed to generate a positive influence and experience than what you had prior to our meeting.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck is being prepared when opportunity knocks. Oftentimes, we wait for opportunities to be presented to us before we take the risk. I always tell consults and clients to prepare to take over, get your ducks in a row and meet the opportunity in the middle.

So with that mindset, luck exists but being prepared for that lucky opportunity is what makes it make sense.
