Daily Inspiration: Meet Josie Bailey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josie Bailey.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started telling stories in 1993 as a volunteer in my son’s 4th grade class! Read stories to each class in school and someone told me that I could get paid to do this! Found out how this was done and so began my career as a professional storyteller!

I took business classes from Goodwill and all these years later, I am working on LIVE and VIRTUAL storytelling sessions through www.josiebailey.com

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Small startups are never without challenges! Some of my challenges.

1. Giving up on my dream when all seemed loss.

2. Continuing to pursue my dream in the midst of negativity and discouragement.

3. Unstable finances.

4. Working to support my business instead of my business taking care of me.

5. Keeping family together in the midst of being self-employed.

6. I am sure there are plenty more that I cannot think of now.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I agree with the Uncle Sam when he chooses to give artists a break because most of their contribution to society is not seen until they a no longer on the earth!

I am happy to finally be creating writings and videos that will outlive me provide information and comfort for future generations!

As a professional storyteller, I entertain children and adults for many occasions! I am most known for my storytelling and audience entertainment in a fun and informative way.

I am most proud that I never gave up on my dream and that I get to encourage others to continue to pursue their dreams!

I think that my newest offerings on my website set me apart from most other storytellers. I have a selection of folktales, fables, poetry and historical presentations that can be purchased virtually.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would like to encourage your readers to locate their passion as early as possible learn to cultivate and develop that gift on the inside of them so that they can share themselves with the WORLD!
