Meet Jasmine Grimes of The Jasmakayla Enterprise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Grimes. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Jasmine Grimes is a 22 years old phenomenal young African American woman, born and raised in Columbus, GA. at the age of 18 she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she furthered her education majoring in business accounting at Georgia State University, which she will be graduating May 6, 2022, while also working at Macy’s as a men’s fragrance sales associate. Once COVID 19 pandemic hit she elevated to her best self and became one of the most youngest successful entrepreneurs in the industry! Jasmine is the owner of The JasMakayla Collection where she made over $100,000 from selling hair and running two Airbnb’s. Now she has an online business that is geared towards helping other small black businesses. She did a webinar with Tammy Rivera educating other aspiring entrepreneur women how to step out on faith and start their own business. I now am a multi-business owner, I do credit repair, tax preparation, airbnb, and my mentorship program. When I first started airbnb May 2021, I made $30,000 the first month of being in business. I have an office space located in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy and it definitely isn’t for the weak. I believe in the saying “Nothing worth having will ever come easy!” Lack of market knowledge, knowing how to deal with slow seasons and overcome them, and also rude customers who do not value you or your time, in the end it is all worth it!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

I have a payment plan available with Sezzle where my clients can make four payments but still get started right away. I am always doing giveaways as well for my services.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As an entrepreneur, you have to take risks. The rich gets richer while the poor stays poor because they always think every opportunity is a “scam”. Risk-taking enables and encourages innovation, which can be an important product/service differentiator. Failed risks aren’t always negative. Sometimes, they provide the most valuable business lessons an entrepreneur can learn. Failure helps shape future business strategies and can eventually lead to business growth.
