Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Mack.
Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello hello! My name is Amber Marie Mack! I am a 29 year old creative soul just trying to love life successfully to its fullest potential! I am a college graduate from Georgia State University where I graduated Cum Laude with my B.A. in Journalism with a double minor in Speech and Sociology!
I have always been a huge advocate for all things beauty and branding! Lol but my journey truly started after I had my daughter. Who is now 4 and in absolute love of my life. Once I had her, life at that point became very serious and I had to make a change that was going to benefit her, myself, and my family while at the same time not losing myself and my creative passion. If anything pushed me more. My mental health played a large role as well. I needed an outlet to help battle my postpartum depression while still making an impact.
I had already had my degree and was a manager at a large corporation but life changes after a child. I wanted more control over my life and my passion and I always wanted to give her a reason to be proud of me. Someone to look up to. I was very challenged to say the least, but I never let any of those things stop me. I became my own self-taught ambassador. I did tons of research and taught myself most of what I know so that no one could have the power to control my future. I built my brand from the ground up. From my podcast to YouTube, writing and now adjusting to tik tok and reels. I never wanted anyone to have so much control over me and my future when I had that power in the palm of my hands.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Easy?! What’s that? Lol but no, honestly it has not. Balancing raising a toddler, having a full-time job, becoming an entrepreneur, and maintaining a healthy work life balance has been the most challenging of all. This is the part of life that no amount of schooling and college can teach you about. There have been a lot of mental blocks along the way. Mostly feelings of discouragement and fear. There were a lot of times in my journey where I stopped creating simply because mentally, I felt like I wasn’t good enough or didn’t measure up to the other women on these platforms. Comparison is thief of joy so even when I might have been at my best, I was always telling myself I wasn’t until I started using that very thing to fuel my motivation. People began to relate to that and wanted to see more of that. Not just when it all looks good but the rough days as well. Being self taught and sharing those very struggles with my audience gave me a leverage that I truly feel proud of! I grew to be better from it and I love that for me and my audience that grows along with me!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would like to think of myself as the woman who wears many hats. I first started my creative journey on YouTube. I specialized in beauty and makeup tutorials. I then branched out and had a blog, Sincerely, Amber Marie Mack where I wrote about pretty much everything. I began to really view Instagram as a way to market to my audience with the photo post, IGTV, and now reels. I began to truly incorporate mental health and motherhood and lifestyle in all my brands as a whole. In August 2020, I launched More Wine Please with Amber Mack on all podcast streaming platforms. I launched my personal makeup masterclasses and finally, I got my LLC for my branding company AMM Branding & Digital Media where I work with clients to help build those brand from logos to social media. In the grand scheme of things, it all seems like so much but I am a very creative person and always want to channel my creativity in different outlets because people enjoy creative things differently than others.
I am most proud of my ability to say I want to do something and just do it! I have had reels go viral at 12k views and I have over 300 listens on my podcast. Down to my official business and people trusting me with their business ventures. That’s a lot for a self-taught beginner. It’s always the very thing that sets me apart. If someone like me can start from scratch and be successful. Little wins are still wins none the less.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I spent nine years of my childhood in Cheyenne, Wyoming when my father was in the military. It’s part of the reason I am able to work with all walks of life and be well versed simply because I have been around different cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities!
