Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Wade.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, I always had a desire to be an entrepreneur, but I wanted a family most of all. I worked retail in high school and throughout my four years at University of GA. After graduating college, I got married to my firefighter high school sweetheart and entered various sales positions. I lived in a small suburb of Atlanta, so commuting to jobs was difficult and time-consuming. I thought hard about what career path I could take that would allow me to cultivate relationships with others, which was my true desire but also to be present in my marriage and children’s lives, and also make a solid living and be my own boss. Every thought led me to pursuing a career in real estate. I first entered the industry working in an office position for a local developer. This allowed me to learn all the behind the scenes of the industry from the very beginning of a land project all the way through building and selling. A few years later, I decided I wanted to get licensed and had the opportunity to work in new construction.
I sold homes on site in a local community for a few years, where I had my first child. I learned so much from new construction but felt limited by who I could sell to and the strict hours that were required. Finally, in 2016, after much prayer and reflection, I took a leap of faith and went out on my own in real estate sales. I spread the word to my family and friends, who all supported me wholeheartedly and helped me to build the successful business that I have the privilege of owning today. I tripled my volume in my second full year of business in 2017 and knew God had placed me exactly where I needed to be. Through having another son in 2019 to the pandemic of 2020 (and still…) and the crazy relentless housing market of 2021, this career continues to challenge, teach and excite me! For the five years, I have been in operation, I have achieved multi-million dollar producer status and have averaged 8 million in sales volume. I thank my God, family and support system of referrals for giving me the opportunity to run a successful business that I am so passionate about today!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This career is very difficult on emotions. I take every transaction very personally, and so any time there were difficulties in a transaction, it took a toll on me emotionally. I can’t help but feel the pain and struggles of my clients. There have also been dry months where financially, we were living on savings and my husband’s income, hustling to bring in a new real estate business. It is very competitive!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is still in the beginning stages, with just myself and a marketing coordinator. My future goals are to add a larger team! I have always called the Northwest Atlanta area my home but my knowledge of the local real estate market spans many counties.
