Today we’d like to introduce you to Lawrence Franklin.
Hi Lawrence, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I recall going to Oklahoma for our family reunion as a child. I was inspired by the music in our family. As a kid, I would watch the grown folks stand around the piano and sing. As my Aunt Shirly or our Family Friend Felix would play, the keys mesmerized me. The way my Aunt Shirley would move as she conducted our family choir was also mesmerizing. That exposure was a contribution to the ignition of all the musical gifts buried deep inside of me. One lucky day my mother and father bought me a keyboard I saw in the window of a PawnShop, and from that moment, I became a self-taught Multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer. As I grew in my gifts and talents, I would soon start my own record label Dream Projects Entertainment, produce many artists, and signed my own pop RnB Group Dream5, I would also produce celebrity concerts and awards shows to gain momentum. Soon I would end up in the City of Atlanta by way of Colton California my place of origin. Atlanta would open me to the beat of the South and the East! I would soon end up in New York, Co-staring in the off-Broadway Musical the Wiz as the Cowardly Lion. Being in the theater for the first time was an eye-opener that gave me the motivation to write Producer my own musical. My 1st Big musical was a success 10/2/2021 was the 1st showing of Children Of Origin the Musical.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were many sacrifices. I had to step away from music and entertainment to work on building financial security with a solid foundation. I was at one point broke, and I knew that I had to do something that would give me the cash flow, to maintain a good standard of living and the freedom I need. So I looked on youtube on how to buy houses with no money and no credit! I now have several properties. The struggle is that all the hard work has put distance between myself and my gifts. Today it is about balance.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I am a versatile musician with a big powerful singing voice. I am most proud of The Musical I wrote the Children Of Origin, Inspired by racial tension in the US and police brutality it is not only a work of art. It spreads a message about peace, unity, and equality.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mother Lynn Franklin is my number one, she is my biggest support, advocate, inspiration, and so much more. I could not be where I am without the love and support of my mother. My mother has given me words of encouragement, she has donated funds when I needed it all because she believed and still believes in me.
