Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Leach.
Hi Candace, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 – Renal Cell Carcinoma. After 18 months, I successfully beat my kidney cancer, received the all clear, and I decided to follow my dreams. My first step in chasing my dreams was to go back to school to attain my degree in Mass Communication. It was during my matriculation that I launched my business, The Elle Agency, in 2019. In chasing my dreams, I knew that yes, I wanted to make an impact in my community, but I also wanted to ensure that other mompreneurs, like myself, didn’t experience what I had. In the early days of my business, I struggled to gain traction, find my tribe, and have a real sense of direction. I made several pivots, as initially, I only offered social media management. As my tribe’s needs changed, so did my offerings. With the changes came other mastery of skills and I obtained more knowledge and acquired other certifications. This road definitely wasn’t easy but was extremely worth every experience and opportunity. Not only am I walking in my purpose and making an impact, I am cultivating generational wealth, breaking generational curses, and providing my children a front row seat to see that they too can take a thought, put some work into it, and manifest it on the other side.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I definitely wouldn’t say that the road was smooth. I’ve had several struggles along the way. My biggest struggle was financing my business. As a mother, I was working part-time, I was a full-time college student and still required to not only provide for my children but find a balance between it all where my children felt and knew that they were the priority.
Time was definitely a challenge. I wanted the flexibility of being an entrepreneur but found that I had less and less time for my family, as I was working more and more in my business. Also competing with my time were distractions. If a squirrel ran past the window, it caught my attention and then I watched it until it left my sight.
Lack of mentorship was truly an obstacle. Finding the right mentor isn’t necessarily as easy as just saying it. No one told me that I could interview coaches. I spent a lot of resources, mainly time and money, on coaches and coaching programs that didn’t yield a return on my investment. I found myself distrusting mentors and coaches because of my previous experiences with a few. Finding the right mentor or coach is similar to me finding my ideal customer and client.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Elle Agency. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Elle Agency is a business aimed to educate, train, and inspire other mothers (and their children) who possess the entrepreneurial spirit. We show up for those struggling mompreneurs who no longer want to be busy with figuring out how to build their empires (MOM’pires) while reducing the time they spend working the business, gain clarity with workflows, goals, strategies, mindset, and systems, wants to transition from doing it all in her business to being the CEO, increase her generated revenue, and attain the lifestyle that she desires.
Although we offer other products and services, we specialize in business development, mindset, and marketing strategy.
Honestly, I recognize that I’m in a highly saturated market, and there are others that do either exactly what The Elle Agency does or very similar. However, those other businesses don’t have ME! I’m uniquely me. There’s no one else who’s been through the same struggles and challenges exactly as I have. There’s no one else that teaches, trains, or inspires like ME! My clients are not just my clients. We are truly a family!
I always knew I wanted to serve others like me. Even in grade school “Each One, Teach One” was an outlet that I utilized to serve others to assist them with gaining knowledge and acquiring skill sets. Throughout my career, I actively sought out opportunities to work closely with women who were bosses in their industry to uncover what made them successful.
The thing that I say that I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the impact that we cultivate. I’m truly thankful for the trust and confidence bestowed upon myself and my team to come in and assist and inspire. That is truly the ultimate compliment. One mompreneur after the next, I get to witness generational curses being broken while simultaneously building generational wealth.
The Elle Agency offers a myriad of services, from individual and group coaching to marketing strategies and a few other amazing services in between. Regardless of the service, our goal is to cultivate a blueprint unique for your business to have multiple successes. Show you strategies that allow you to truly have a fully automated business so that you can live the lifestyle that you desire. Most importantly, cultivate a routine that includes checking into your mindset and taking time to refill your cup. How can you fill someone else’s cup if yours is empty?
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, life coaching will still be a viable option. As time goes on, the demand for niched coaching continues to increase. However, I do see it being more of a necessity than a luxury.
Current trends show that there’s an increasing demand for accountability and measurable results, virtual coaching will continue to be one of the top coaching trends, live event requests are on the rise, and there’s an uptick in the requests across industries for coaching over consulting.
