Meet Audreyanna Garrett of Eye Dare You

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audreyanna Garrett.

Hi Audreyanna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2015 my sister and I were in conversation about developing our own business, as we are children of a mother who exposed us to entrepreneurship at a very young age, we decided it was time we started something of our own. Since we both love to accessorize, we figured that retailing sunglasses was a great way that we could both showcase and incorporate our individual styles. We came up with Eye Dare You because we wanted our shades to not be too safe, as we wanted them to be daring and encourage shoppers to get outside of their comfort zone. And as we understand that high fashion is not affordable to all, we established Eye Dare You’s mission to create and supply unique, high fashion, and affordable eye-ware, bridging the gap between “high fashion” and “affordable”, without compromising quality.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We are small business owners with big dreams like many others but we also have lives and obligations to prioritize so we are constantly facing challenges with trying to stay active with building a brand that doesn’t have as much momentum catching on and sales as we would like. My sister (Chanteau Garrett) is a single parent and stylist and I (Audreyanna Garrett) am a doctoral student on top of our full-time jobs. Additionally, at present, we don’t reside in the same city which presents its own unique set of challenges as far as interviewing, etc. Not to mention COVID-19 affected us with almost no sales as this is an accessories brand so it’s not a necessity essentially.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Eye Dare You?

Following this model, Eye Dare You shades have been seen on the faces of Erica Campbell, Angela Simmon’s Stylist Kanayo Eboni, The Goo Goo Atkins and other fashion influencers throughout the U.S., as well as featured on the runway at the 2015 BET Experience Fashion show and in episodes on WEtv.

And although we do not yet retail our own styles/designs currently, we are working on creating a personal line of our own.

What matters most to you? Why?
Ensuring that we have excellent customer service, no matter how small the order purchased, timely shipping and response to inquiries, as well as ensuring the quality of our products.
