Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazemine Blanding.
Hi Jazemine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
A woman’s hair is her crown. I know for myself, I have spent hundreds of dollars on hair over the years so that I could make sure my hair always looked good. When I was in college, I knew that I had a desire to sell hair. I did not pursue the idea at the time because I felt the market was already saturated with hair businesses. Fast forward to 2021, in conversation with my mentor, she told me, “You casted down one of the business ventures that God has for you. It’s in the hair business, God gave you that business idea.” It was from that conversation that I went full speed ahead to starting my own company to sell quality, raw hair that made women feel great and also empowered them to be their authentic selves. It is true that when a woman has her hair done, she can conquer the world– it’s like having the right pair of shoes! I started my business journey by researching vendors who could provide top-quality raw hair. I knew I wanted to sell raw hair so that women who purchase my hair would be able to manipulate the color, up to Blonde 613 if they desired, without the integrity and texture of the hair changing. It is important to me that my customers receive exactly what they want from what they see on the website to the actual install.
The birthing of my hair business is very personal to me. Jazzy Blanco Enterprise is more than just the selling of hair. My business falls under my ministry, Glammed and Saved. With Glammed and Saved, I aim to empower women to be their true authentic self — whether that’s in 6 inch heels or rocking J’s. My heart is always to give, to serve and provide for the less fortunate. Jazzy Blanco Enterprise in partnership with Glammed and Saved plans to purchase wigs and donate them to cancer centers across the globe. I am called to make an impact on women — worldwide.
Piece by piece, I have built my business and I am thankful it is continuing to expand. Jazzy Blanco Enterprise entered the world June 2021 and I have not looked back!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The main obstacle I encountered was finding the right people/company to create my logo and website for Jazzy Blanco Enterprise. I wanted to assure that the website and logo was representative of the brand and what I wanted to portray: luxury, elegance, class, grace, authentic. Also, finding the right hair vendor for my hair business definitely took a lot of work. I knew that this would be an investment. Many nights I was up late on WhatsApp video with vendors from India, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia discussing their hair products. I ordered samples of hair and tested the hair. I wanted to be sure I was making the right choice for my business. Now almost a year later, my hard work and research paid off. I love the hair and am confident in my product. I am the walking billboard for my business because I wear my own product!
I am potentially looking to expand product offerings with Jazzy Blanco Enterprise. I know this will potentially bring another set of challenges but having taken the first step of putting my business out to world, I am confident I will navigate these challenges well.
I am also navigating into the nonprofit world establishing the Glammed and Saved nonprofit. While I am excited to give back and impact the lives of many, this will be something new for me. I welcome the challenge to learn and grow in this area.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Glammed and Saved?
My faith is very important and the force behind everything that I do. My ministry is called “Glammed and Saved.” Glammed and Saved is the umbrella entity for Jazzy Blanco Enterprise and my upcoming nonprofit. Glammed and Saved started as a virtual bible study and is currently growing to include a podcast, blog and merchandise. I was given the idea for Glammed Saved back in 2021 to encourage women and show them that living for God does not have to be boring. You can run a business, have a career, marriage, family, ministry, be a fashion mogul and still live your faith out loud. Since establishing Glammed and Saved I have so much in store under my brand.
Jazzy Blanco Enterprise is the first organization to be launched and incorporated under Glammed and Saved. The establishment of the company is allowing me to break into an industry and show many how to be integrous, upstanding, confident and remain true to yourself.
As I mentioned earlier, my heart is always to give. The Glammed and Saved nonprofit looks to assist orphans and widows throughout the world. Specifically, Glammed and Saved will conduct programming for orphanages and nursing homes. Our goal is to ensure no one in this world is overlooked and that everyone feels and looks beautiful.
