Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Seow jr.
Hi Peter, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am Peter Seow Jr., born in Hempstead, NY, and raised in a multicultural family with a large extended family. I moved to Atlanta, GA at 12 years old planting roots in College Park before moving to Fayetteville. I am known for being uber-creative, I love utilizing my diverse skills to express my artistic impulse. I can recall my family would come together for any reason to celebrate, eat and fellowship. So I’ve always had a passion for creating and bringing people together through my art. I go by many names to my friends and family, but you can call me Pete Easy. When I started my company I decided to integrate my name “Easy Did It”, for me it’s my signature to my art. My journey as a creative started in my adolescent years yet what empowered me was the educational development I received while attending The Art Institute of Atlanta. I launched my first business ProTeesATL with a friend, Cedric in 2004. I am also Co-Creator of the “A-Town” Logo and ⅓ of the L.A.L.A team.
In 2016, I decided to pursue starting my own company as a sole owner while focusing on expanding my screen printing knowledge. This shift allowed me to enhance the products and services I offer within the market. While operating my business within the Atlanta art community I have learned a lot. I am also often inspired by other creatives around me, Atlanta culture cultivates some talented people. One of the key things I would express to the younger artist is to continue to stimulate your imagination and expose yourself to various facets of art. I have had several highlights within my career, I served as The Lead Print Manager of NGA Promotions in Forsyth, GA. I became the Lead Print Manager of Sproxte, In East Point, GA. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some dope creatives/clients in Atlanta such as Mass Collective, Like A Lion’s Artwork, Mack II, Phew’s Pies, The BakeryATL, 404day, Mammal Gallery, WonderRoot, Living Walls, 7 Stages, Danger Press, and IceBox.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I had a falling out with my original partner, going through that had me re-evaluate myself and learn from my previous mistakes. We were young and had aspirations to be millionaires, but we just needed a better plan, and we had to learn to stick with it. I also had a child and started a family, so I had to put my personal aspirations on hold so that I could learn how to balance my work/family/dreams. The Pandemic, of course, was an obstacle for all of us. I used that time to learn new skills and find more creative ways to get my family involved with my creative process. Also starting a company alone, even though it can be empowering, it can also be an obstacle, being the only one that can see your vision.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m mostly known for my screen printing and custom garments. I have been involved with the printing industry for the past 20 years. My new printshop Easy Did It, LLC. is now aimed at becoming a print/design resource. I am extremely excited to be a part of a new creative initiative, a hand full of creators like myself have come together to house our business under one roof. Our goal is to all provide resources for creatives, products and services to the public. The Creative space is called Yellow Studios, I am proud to be one of the creators apart of this initiative and honored to have my business located amongst so many dope creators. Over the years, I have mentored younger creatives, so I plan to continue this by providing educational content on my website. I would like my site to become a place for people of all levels to learn about printing and our print industry. I will have tutorials teaching the basics of the craft all the way up to the more advanced techniques. Recently, I have branched into the custom resin business, I started with my lady Maria named EZRzN and we also do tutorials and custom creations with Epoxy Resin. I am tinkering with electrical creations and learning new tools and heavy machinery.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have a lot of mentors and guidance along the way. My number one supporter has Always been my Mother Robin Hill-Artis. She has taught me to harness my passion and channel it in a positive direction, whether that be Art, Singing, or just being ok with expressing my fullest intention. My wife and kids for giving me structure, and I also have a group of strong friends that I’ve known since I’ve moved to GA that have been supporting me and my ideas since day one. Josie Terry for showing me the ropes of screen printing and teaching me everything she knows. My first business partner Cedric Shephard for giving me the confidence to believe in my professional talents. Travis Jones has been a mentor and also someone that has helped me assemble my list of great clients that I still have to this day.
