Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Powell.
Hi Ariel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Columbus, GA, and raised in Charleston, SC, I’m the youngest out of my two oldest siblings. To which my parents is are pastors. My love for photography started off at a young age and I never knew I was going to be an international photographer that I am to this day. I graduated from High School with 3.0 GPA. I feel what makes me special is that I am self-taught photographer. I’m the owner of Lioness Films & Photography LLC. I’ve been capturing memories and moments for 7 or 8 years but I finally walked into my passion for it about two and a half years ago. I have accomplished many goals in my photography. I have worked with “Anthony Grant” off Tyler Perry’s Play Marriage Counselor, Vita the Rapper, & plenty more to come.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel as though nothing in life is easy but I will continue to thank God for every moment throughout my journey.
MY obstacles: I faced in my career is mainly me comparing myself to others. I always felt like people always better me at photography because they got so many likes, comments, hearts on their photos.
Not knowing what they had to go through a lot to get that perfect shot and what they had to go through to get where they are.
My Challenges: is to strive to be the best me I can be and continue to perfect my photography and STOP WORRYING ABOUT OTHERS. I’M MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE!!
Though they are many obstacles in life, I will continue to use them as STEPPING STONES and continue to GROW and KEEP GOD FIRST.
We’ve been impressed with Lioness Films & Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Photographer based out Charleston. I am also a traveling photographer. I specialize: In Studio Photography, Outdoor Photography, Event Photography, Model Photography, and anything that has to do with photography.
What we are known for: Amazing, Dope, Well Rounded Photographer
What sets me apart from others: Standing by my word shows honesty, integrity, and dependability.
What are you most proud brand wise: Dealing with different people helps me a lot to broaden my creativity. And I’m also proud that worked a lot of famous people watched while growing and seeing my photos on movie covers and music album covers.
What I want you to know: I learned a lot and grew from my mistakes.
I also have a clothing called Lioness Pride coming out late 2023.
