Daily Inspiration: Meet Denise Mosley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Mosley.

Hi Denise, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a wife, a mother, a woman with a passion to serve God anyway He allows me to serve community and people.

There has always been a passion inside me for putting my thoughts down on paper. I believe it started the year my parents gave me a typewriter for Christmas. I thought that little Talking “Brother” (The Type Of Brand) was the best thing since sliced bread.

It was just something about sitting down in front of that little typewriter that made me think my words were somehow magic. The first time I wrote a poem- I fell in love. I wrote so many poems during my middle school and high school years that I had two huge notebooks full of original poetry.

Well-as life went on- I graduated High School with the same passion for writing-not really knowing where to place such a passion so I tucked it away… in pursuit of making a living and learning how to adult in the world- But of course as life would have it… no matter how many twists and turns life took- I always ended up in some way, shape, form or fashion- staring back at my forever love… writing, creating, and putting meaningful expressions into the world in print.

Fast forward to today, I currently serve as a Photojournalist and Morning Show Editor for a local ABC network. My husband and I have raised two beautiful children, served our local community and have tried to lead by examples over the years…and yet somehow in the midst of that, I have managed to hold on to my passion by way of authoring and publishing books- with the most recent one dropping and launching officially this year in 2022 on April 3rd. So to answer your question… How did I get here?… The passion has always been there. I just had to pick it up and put it down according to what demands life presented itself to me along the way. Not to mention that somehow I always find myself pulling for and encouraging Women and girls to find themselves, love Christ and grow into who they ultimately are supposed to be – confidently… while learning how to be of service to their communities and faith.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been difficult? Of Course. To the person looking at me wondering how does all this work? Why does she put so much stock in anything that will never give her a huge return on money invested or being a source of encouragement for others while it is most likely not returned. How do I keep going as an encourager, mentor, and author?… simple… “I have a charge to keep.”

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I Love encouraging people in general – but I especially love and embrace encouraging women, talking to women, praying for and speaking to the heart of women through word and voice to keep going in life no matter how the outcome may look to others – in raising their families, running their businesses and dealing with all types of situations and different kinds of people… No matter what obstacles may stand in your way… KEEP GOING! My current book “Get Up” And Live is an extended part of the message that I deliver everyday- especially for the past couple of years to my Women’s Christian Group. The more we have encouraged one another in Woman Emerge- the more it has driven me to want to continue encouraging and pushing women to reach their dreams.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I have to say there are a number of people who have pushed me and encouraged me to continue to be a leader and a person who seeks to encourage, inspire and uplift on a regular basis…but I would have to say that my daughter has been the biggest influence who pushes me to lean into it- especially through my faith as a woman of God… to consistently keep my message clear and Christ-Centered at all times so that there’s no question of where my true inspiration comes from- Which is the message of Christ. My husband and my son are also my biggest cheerleaders. The Women in Woman Emerge also encourage me more than they know.
