Life & Work with Luciano Wallace

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciano Wallace.

Hi Luciano, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in Thomasville, GA is a much different atmosphere than Atlanta is. It is a small rural town where I couldn’t wait to get out of. I used to come to Atlanta a lot as a child to see friends and family. I knew that’s where my story would lead to one day. Fast forward to the beginning of 2021. I had just dropped out of school, I was majoring in fashion design. With more free time on my hands, I started going out and meeting new people with the same interests as me which led to friends with clothing brands wanting me to model for them. One thing led to another and I just got back from my 2nd New York Fashion Week. Nowadays, I throw Parties and events under the name of Dark Envy that I own with my good friend Jarred Urey. The future holds big things in Atlanta for the fashion/music scene.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a pretty bumpy road to say the least. I came from playing sports my whole life and was planning on playing more in college, but a series of injuries held that back, but honestly that has been the best thing to happen yet. I wouldn’t be in the position I am today without going through a bumpy past.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in Art Direction. That includes things like set design and setting up shoots for videos and pictures. I also write and direct short films as one of my most favorite hobbies. I recently had one come out with my friend Corey Thomas (@dekomposed via Instagram). We are currently in the middle of another film that I’m very excited about and I think it will be my best one yet. My biggest accomplishment so far has to be walking in two consecutive NYFW shows within a year of starting modeling. But most proud? I am most proud of the success that has come with my Dark Envy organization. I’m excited for the future that it holds.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a pretty introverted kid. I had to learn how to use my personality to my best abilities though. It wasn’t hard for me to make friends, it was more I didn’t care to make friends. I had a solid group of four best friends I was always around, who I could always count on. Through high school, fashion was a big part of my life I was just getting into. My hometown was very small and rural so fashion wasn’t very mainstream there. That’s what made me inevitably move to a bigger city to pursue my interests.
