Today we’d like to introduce you to Elie Mondesir Jr.
Elie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My best friend is in the trucking business and suggested I enter the business on the logistics side.
I trust him, so I went ahead and created an LLC back in August 2021.
I had zero knowledge of the trucking industry but I did research online as well as picked my best friend’s brain for as much fundamental knowledge as possible.
I started marketing and working on my business in November.
I have learned so much in so little time but one thing that is consistent no matter what sector of business you’re in is that attention to detail and customer service will bring along the right profit and clientele.
I am still learning everyday but I am happy to be able to call myself a business owner on the rise.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been an interesting road. My lack of knowledge definitely showed itself through trial and error.
However, those trials and errors have been a vital part of my growth in the dispatching industry.
Oftentimes, my clients are surprised with how I operate despite being in the industry for just four months.
I struggled, and still struggle with, getting all the tools I need to be efficient and successful, but I know I will continue to build and use more resources that will help me achieve those objectives.
Funding was an issue and I am still working on that.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I own a dispatching company, which is part of the logistics sector of the trucking industry.
I offer full-service dispatch, which is essentially the entire process of negotiating rates to establishing business relationships with logistics brokers. I handle back-office work and do a lot of self-marketing in Facebook groups.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
YouTube has been a great resource of information, as well as trucking Facebook groups.
Pricing:
- My dispatching services start at 7% per load.
- As I onboard new clients, I have comprehensive discussions about your business needs and the role I can play to promote success. It’s imperative to be on the same page before embracing a new business relationship.
