Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started as a small-town girl living in a small town of Rome, GA. I was very young girl and my mother woke up one morning and decided to move to the big city of Atlanta, GA. Though I didn’t live in the Heart of the city, it was a HUGE difference from being from such a small place. I always knew I loved capturing the moment but I never had the true guidance to lead me. My uncle used to get so mad when he would always see me with a camera. I’d get my phone taken all the time but It was an addiction to always take a picture of anything I could. Then one day someone I loved said “why don’t you explore that desire a little more.” and I did. It became a dream to be better every time I picked up a camera. I could finally see things clearly. It was not the camera, it was the drive and the passion behind it. That drove me to be a wedding photographer. I learned that weddings were a way for me to express myself through the love I found in other people. Most people run far from weddings because they are seen as “stressful” and “tiring” but to me, they were fun and allowed me to make a groom and bride’s perfect day come true.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. Everything is trial and error. Trying to find your true identity is hard, you see other people’s work and get discouraged in yourself and I learned once you stop worrying about how other people’s work looks and learn to love perfecting your craft, you become obsessed with a true vision of self-identity.

Blooming Oak Photography is the name of my business, it all started as portrait photographer and I became in love with weddings and event photography. What does success mean to you?
I define success as happiness. When you enjoy doing something, it becomes easier for you to do it everyday. It doesn’t matter what happens; you find success in the things that make you happy. Success isn’t about how much money you make or who knows you. Success is being happy with yourself in the end.
