Hi Jay, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When covid hit hard 2020, I was fired from my security job. I funded my film journey with stimulus relief money. I was always been a part of the entertainment business for years. Dance & music mainly but I felt my passion was being behind the camera instead of being in front. So I purchased equipment and never looked back.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
April of this year will make it two years I’ve been working for myself & no one else. I can say it feels great to be your own boss but the obstacles are endless with being an entrepreneur, starting with no clients & trying to get your name out is a tough but key process even working for free but to sum it up, I’d say they’re no smooth roads anywhere you just have to be prepared seven know how to adjust.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a videographer/photographer & I specialize in music videos commercials & show/concert recaps. With being the 1st in my family to start a business & being only two years into filming, the amount of support & clientele I’ve grown is what I’m most proud of.
My work ethic sets me apart from a lot of people & the fact that it’s a passion not about the money I’ve worked for free so I could make my own prices down the road.
