Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Collins.
Hi Nancy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Before starting with Bedroom Kandi Boutique, I was a pre-k teacher. Although I loved working with young children, I had the desire to start my own business. The idea and dream of working my own hours, and having more money in my hand, was constantly on my mind. However, I just didn’t know where to begin. So then the pandemic happens. In March 2020, companies began closing down, and the childcare industry (in which I was a part of) took a major loss in attendance. I knew I had to keep my family afloat. So out of all of the direct sale companies, Bedroom Kandi stood out the most to me.
Before joining Bedroom Kandi as a consultant, I was a part of two other direct sales companies. My whole purpose for joining under the direct sales umbrella was to “be my own boss.” Yet, with the two prior companies, I never became my own boss. I sold the products but did not see much return. The companies were over-saturated, and they really didn’t fit my personality. Bedroom Kandi Boutique changed all of that for me.
I actually LOVE what I do with this company. I have more time with my family, the commission is great, and the products are a part of my life. Becoming a Lifestyle Consultant is not for everyone, but it’s definitely for me!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started selling the products, I was shy. Coming from a church background, I didn’t know what to expect from others. So I tip-toed around promoting my business. I would only mention it every so often. The breakthrough came (for my business) when I shared one of my team member’s video on my social media page. The name of the item is called Play With Me, a positioning strap. For the first time since stepping into the world of direct sales, I actually saw results! Good/great results!!!
After the overwhelming response, I stepped out of my comfort zone and began promoting my business more.
Knowing that Bedroom Kandi is an adult company, I knew this was new terrain. Some supported, while others didn’t. 95% of my support has come from strangers. Of course sometimes, it would be nice to have the support of family members, but it’s ok.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a Bedroom Kandi Consultant, I mainly promote a healthy, educated, and exciting intimate lifestyle for all customers. One of my rewarding experiences since becoming a consultant was assisting a couple who had a began to have a dull sexual relationship. The husband was ready to walk away or start cheating. Once I got to the root of their problem, I suggested an item, which was the Suspense Swing and a blindfold. Helping couples is one of the most rewarding things I could do. Not only do I help couples, I assist those who are not in a relationship. I help them to become comfortable with their bodies. To not wait on the perfect someone before they enjoy life and the beauty of their bodies. That’s where our bath and beauty products can assist in that area. As a consultant, I embrace every personal situation as if it’s my own and give the best sound advice.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
As a consultant, I proudly try out all the products. From the intimate line to the Kandi Koated Cosmetics. I have my own stash at my home. It’s the best way to tell others about the products. This is not just business for me, but it’s a pleasurable experience.
