Meet Aaliyah Tee of Artistry Media & Staffing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaliyah Tee.

Hi Aaliyah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a small-town girl with big dreams! I was working in fast food & was doing makeup on the side.

Makeup became my full-time job and before covid, I felt like I should be doing more. I was more than just a makeup artist. I wanted to create experiences!

When covid came, sets and shows were getting shut down and my makeup business started to decline. I rebranded into a full casting & media agency.

It’s been a great two years and I felt once again, I want to do more. Let’s go bigger! This year I’m focusing on more staffing for events & tours as well as casting.

I assist with set design, employees, promotion/marketing, funding/ sponsors & casting for these events.

I’ve been assisting with three tours this year, the newest one is 1017 Tour with LuvEnchanting.

I knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry and even from makeup, I can help bring people’s visions to life. I used both of those and it helped me create a brand I’m proud of.

My models are booked and busy & I have a career projection volume of 30-60 days of increased employment, portfolio, development and branding.

The events I work with, the staff is reliable and shows up and shows out. No worries if theft or negligence.

I get to live my dreams daily. It’s a lot of hard work but worth it when you see the final results.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road! What road is honestly smooth

The vehicle in my opinion and how you maneuver on the road help keep it smooth.

I make sure I, the vehicle, am at my best performance. Mentally, physically, & emotionally so I can give 100%. Then I make sure I educate myself and plan so I can maneuver the best way possible.

It’s never perfect but as long as I try to make sure I can do the best I can that’s all that matters.

Most of my struggles came from promotion for myself. With me working behind the scenes. I focus more on the work and clients exposure; I forget to put the same care into mine.

Social media is so big now, followers and content mean a lot. It’s like your resume, people would see my social media and be like yeaaaa, is she really doing this??? I didn’t care to be seen or promoted because I worked behind the scenes and through word of mouth.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to not take more than I can handle. With me holding a lot of hats, I had to understand mastering each thing or being okay to delegate jobs and not doing or controlling everything.

Another important lesson is staying true to my values and my word. That’s how you build connections and that trust.
