Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Bradford.
Hi Sandra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born on August 2, 1968, and I had a normal childhood with an extra-large family. My mom has 23 siblings, and many cousins were more like sisters and brothers. I joined the military one week after graduating from high school in 1986. I served my country for over 26 years and retired in 2012. I was married at the young age of 20, and from that union, I had two beautiful children, Benjamin (2wo the artist) and Savara. Family for me is a priority, and I cherish every moment we have together.
I’ve always had a strong belief in God, but I became serious about my relationship with Him in my late 20s. From the moment I gave my life to the Lord, my world changed. I was ordained as a licensed minister in 2004 and certified Biblical Counselor in 1999. Helping and Encouraging others has always been my passion, and I know that is my calling.
I’ve always loved journaling from a young age, and I found myself expressing situations that I was going through and how I overcame them. I did this in a therapeutic aspect and written prayers. I did not realize that this would be the avenue God uses to share my ministry with others. Over ten years, I started creating poems and inspirational readings and kept them in a binder, sharing them with friends and family here and there. I never planned on writing a book, but God had different plans. Many people encouraged me and told me that I should publish a book. As God later confirmed, my first book, “Expressions Leaving Lasting Impressions,” was published in 2020, and Sandra Bradford Enterprise, LLC was established.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t a smooth road at all. There were many ups and downs. Being a single mom and taking care of my mother at some point felt overwhelming. Divorce never feels good regardless of any circumstances. And there were times when I was hospitalized for nervous breakdowns, but I know that God is a healer, and He brought me through.
Through every situation I’ve ever been through, I always seek the positive in negative cases to see what lesson I can take away from it. I’ve become who I am from every trial I’ve been through. If anyone should ask who I am……
I am a God-fearing woman of color. Independent, strong, beautiful, and my confidence is only through Jesus Christ, my Savior.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Sandra Bradford Enterprise, LLC was established in 2020. Ministry has always been a big part of my life; therefore, my company’s mission is to give back. I offer faith-based counseling, mentoring, and motivational speaking. I am an author and self-publisher, and I don’t mind sharing my knowledge and wisdom to assist others in accomplishing their goals or dreams. I have a Facebook and Instagram page named “Encouraging Word to Live By,” where I post inspirational quotes and scriptures.
My first book, “Expressions Leaving Lasting Impressions,” is now available for purchase through my website www.sandrabradford.com, Amazon, or Bookpatch.com. My prayer is that this book will be a blessing to everyone that reads it!
Volume 2 will be released in early 2023. I’m currently writing my first non-fictional novel.
The one thing that I want everyone to know is that “God has no respected person.” If he did it for me, He could do it for you!!!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I’m a dedicated worker and a giver. I believe that we all have a calling or destiny for our lives, and the best way to make it a successful journey is to put God in the midst of it all and give Him the glory. Trusting Him is a vital necessity. There isn’t anything too hard for God.
