Meet Lauren Myers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Myers.

Hi Lauren, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started out with a love for art as a child that grew over the years into an interest in computers. Combining the two, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication with a focus in Graphic Design (Summa Cum Laude!). I began freelancing which turned into a graphic design business. While running a business and also working a day job, I quickly realized that time management was important, and automation was a critical piece of my business that I needed to start implementing.

When I discovered the world of automation and how much time I was saving on my business processes, I came to the conclusion that there are many women in similar situations as mine (working a day job, building a business on the side and being a Wife & Mom), and there is no reason we should have to compromise or put our dreams on the back burner when automated tasks can be a part of our processes to help gain back time. This realization is why I transitioned from graphic design to teaching and sharing ways to organize and automate business processes especially as a busy, working Mom with family and business obligations. This is why Lauren Myers & Co. was created!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The largest struggle I’ve faced was deciding to rebrand and totally shift the focus of my business. I was designing for clients and also had a line of paper goods and totally shifted to a different business type and model. Making the change was scary, but it felt right, so I went with my gut and did it!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Lauren Myers & Co., I teach and share automation and productivity strategies for business owners and bloggers that also work a 9-5. I believe that until you have the ability to hire an assistant or hire out work, automation is your assistant!

There are many tasks that we do in our businesses that can have a simple automation created, so we would no longer have to focus on or remember to do them. I love this because it is an instant way to gain back time in your day! As I say, automate tasks to gain back time to work on things that cannot be automated.

On my website, www.LaurenMyersCo.com, I blog about time-saving strategies and share how to use many popular business apps and tools in a simple way. I love sharing these tips with my audience because I’m all about time-saving, and I know that my audience loves to save time as well.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Social media is a great place to start when you want to begin networking! If you know the platform where your audience hangs out the most, you will have direct access to start conversations with them. It’s also a great place to find like-minded business companions and even mentors.

I also love to attend business and blogging conferences and have made great connections at them as well.
