Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Hill.
Hi Lauren, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my floral design company in 2018 while working in corporate America. I always knew that I would be an entrepreneur and loved receiving floral arrangements from local florists. I wanted to give that feeling to other people, and Full Bloom began in my apartment in West Midtown. I was laid off during the pandemic and thankfully already had the business established and it just really took off from there. It was meant to be!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t believe that any road worth traveling is smooth. The floral business is extremely challenging. There is so much to learn so that presents some obstacles. It takes time and great mentors to help you learn how to price, how much product to buy, how to source product, how to properly design or structure arrangements, I can go on and on. It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been easy, if that makes sense. I love my craft so much and have been very dedicated from day one, which has made the struggles great lessons learned. I’m still learning and growing and preparing for bumps in the road.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I recently began to consider myself an artist after being told that for many years. I create custom/unique floral designs for an array of occasions. I like to make people feel practical luxury and that’s the way that I design. My goal is to infuse florals into any event or setting that is requested. I am known for helping others appreciate flowers! I can’t tell you how many people tell me how much they pay attention to flowers now and how much they change an ambiance, inside or outside. That makes me extremely proud. But flowers are a great gift from God, so I am just helping us appreciate them a bit more.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was playing in my grandparent’s backyard and running up to the honeysuckle tree with my brother and trying to taste the honey. The tree was so fragrant and it was like the first thing on the list when I got to Little Rock, AR to visit. That probably made me fall in love with flowers.
