Life & Work with Jas Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jas Brown.

Hi Jas, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ever since I can remember I’ve always had a love for holistic health, At a young age I always had an interest for healing the body naturally and was always against modern medicine. Growing and developing a deeper love for herbal health I gained the knowledge and passion to really help my community learn to heal themselves, especially in communities where it was a struggle for them to get proper healthcare. I was interested in how different herbs and oils can be used together and alone to heal your body even something as simple as garlic for cold and flus. As I deepened my fascination for holistic health I also became a birth doula because I felt every woman especially woman of color were not getting the support they needed during childbirth so I use my knowledge on herbal remedies to help assist the birthing person and be of service to them for whatever information they need or questions they might have, using my personal herbal blends and other remedies I have assisted women personally and virtually on their journey to bringing a child earthside. My love for holistic healing grows every day and I’m grateful to continue to grow and learn more, one day I will expand and have a wellness center where my herbal products along with other services will be provided for everyone to experience! I want people to know you can really heal yourself like our ancestors did many years ago!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, there are struggles with this particular career path, you have to keep in mind that Big Pharma is making so much money off of people’s health problems or diseases that they will never want to heal you, if they heal you, they can’t make money off of you. So when you have people like me that is actually interested in seeing people truly get better we are told “It’s not possible”, not everyone understands the benefit of having the knowledge to help heal themselves along with their loved ones. I always think back to the times before there were doctors or hospitals, there were elders in the villages who taught the tribes the way of the earth, they were so In tune with the earth that they had all the answers already within them. They didn’t have to ask a doctor they just knew.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m mostly known for my herbal business and being a birth doula. Recently I have gotten back into modeling and being a part of different projects producing many forms of art. I got a chance to work with some well-respected photographers like Bennie Rosevelt and more! I have a passion for creating anything art-related, I have been a hairstylist, makeup artist, I enjoy painting, drawing, writing poetry, fashion and I have a love for music, you can say I am a multipotentialite!

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future is to just go after everything I’ve ever wanted in life and build generational wealth for my future children. I’m going to continue to expand and gain as much knowledge on herbs and how I can assist people on their journey to healing. I plan on traveling to places to help spread that knowledge and be of service to my community. I am also going to create a platform where all of my creations can be purchased for an affordable rate, health is wealth and investing in yourself/health is beneficial in the long run!
