Today we’d like to introduce you to Neicy Evans.
Hi Neicy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved cooking and baking for my family. I always volunteer to be the host and party planner for our gatherings. My family would tell me all the time “you are so talented you should open your own business and sell your desserts”, but at the time I would tell myself, I’m a mom, a wife, and working, I wouldn’t have time to invest fully. But one sleepless night I was in my bed talking to God and asking him what can I do, I want to leave a legacy for my children, I want to have something to call my own…and he spoke to me so clearly “it’s time”. It’s time for me to put myself out there and either sink or swim, through the good or bad God has walked me through and continues to walk me through every step of the way. When I don’t know how to do something or figure it out, I call on God. My husband and I had decided to team up and he has become the Marketer and promotion/sales leader in the company which have helped increase our sales greatly. I put my fear to the side and with this short of time have received such great feedback. My dessert lineup includes Brownies (#1 seller), variety of cookies, cupcakes, & cakes.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think my greatest struggle has been getting my recipes the way I like and the consumer would enjoy. I’ve doubted myself plenty of times, thinking I’m not good enough because I didn’t go to culinary school or take baking classes but after I give a good cry and my husband tells me “you got this, don’t let nothing get you down” I would get back in there and try again and again until it’s bomb! Greatness takes hard work and struggle, when you come out the other end it’s worth it!

Black Tie Desserts is currently serving customers out of our home, amazing desserts including our mouth-watering and #1 selling triple chocolate fudge brownies, multiple assortments of soft and delicious cookies, cupcakes & cakes upon request. We have started accepting dessert table orders for any of your special occasions. Our goal in the near future is to have an up-scale dessert bistro brick and mortar shop that will Wow anyone who walks in with not just our outstanding desserts but the breathtaking ambiance!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The best quality to have as a business owner is dedication and consistency. You have to have a great deal of passion for what you are doing and the will to make it happen no matter what.
