Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney O’Neal.
Hi Brittney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Bri.Broskie, I am a singer/songwriter from Decatur, GA. I am also a music producer, entrepreneur and guitarist. I am a self-taught guitarist, I started out playing guitar when I was 13 years old. Music has always been a part of my life. I began singing at a young age in church. I started out in the marching band in middle and high school from Columbia High School. I am currently pursuing a certification in Media Communications from Full Sail University in hopes of advancing my social media career. I started my music business and youtube channel “snmcbeats/productions” around 22 years old. That’s when I started making my own compositions and working towards owning my own production company. I work with film and music and I’m very proud of the work I’ve accomplished. I have gained over 1.5 million streams on Spotify/Apply music and I’m currently working on my first album. I have performed around Atlanta for the past few years and gained many friends while networking. I’ve worked for so many milestones and had ups and downs. I hope to succeed as an independent artist and work toward becoming the best producer and musician I can be!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are many challenges when working in the music industry. I’ve struggled with gaining my royalties, filming a production web series, scheduling performances, consistency with uploading music and my own productions, also struggling with resources of my music production. I also struggle as an independent artist, sometimes it helps to have a team behind you instead of doing every little thing yourself. Uploading on every social media platform can also be a challenge, but these challenges make me stronger and I look forward to succeeding and enjoying the fruitfulness of my near future.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My last EP: From The Beginning is out now! I also have an EP on streaming platforms called Just a Moment, which has my most popular song called “Let’s Go For a Ride” which is streaming now at 1.5 million streams. I have another EP on Soundcloud called “Flyht” which is my first project. My youtube channel has multiple beats available on my channel called “Bri.Broskie” and I also upload music tutorials and songwriting tutorials. My music video is also streaming called “Head Start” on that channel as well. I also have multiple singles available on all streaming platforms as well. I also do freelance work as a songwriter on Fiverr.com where I write song lyrics for multiple streaming artists, it’s also where you can collaborate with me!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say practice your craft as much as you can! If you’re a musician, keep practicing your instrument and if you’re a music producer, learn as much as you can from anywhere. If you’re a performer, try to get out to open mics or practice in front of the mirror! I mainly started out watching youtube tutorials, but I also had friends who were willing to help out with my craft as well. Even if you work a full-time job, set money aside to invest in your craft. Also, be consistent! It can be hard to be an independent artist and set the time aside but try as hard as you can. If it’s your passion, you will find the time. Get a calendar! Try to make a game plan for your schedule. If you truly want it, you will find the time!
