Today we’d like to introduce you to Veveca Cox.
Hi Veveca, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Sha’Vie Wine Collections was born in the middle of a pandemic by two friends who were trying to transition into the wine industry. We both loved wine and often attended wine tastings and wine events around the city of Atlanta. My grandmother used to make wine when I was younger so I guest her recipes were passed down to me through spirit. I started dreaming about what flavors of wines I wanted to create and experimenting with recipes until they were perfect. The Sha’Vie Wine Collections was born on April, 24th 2021. We have a mobile winery and bar that caters to events, weddings, date nights and much more. Our wines would sell out at events and the word began to spread about the wines and now have a winery opening soon in the historic district of downtown Stone Mountain. This past year has been an exciting journey and I am looking to expand the product nationwide. Current there are six flavors of wine: Sexy Red-Rose’ infused with cognac, Sha’Vie VIP Passionfruit infused with vodka, Peach Passion-Peach wine, Blue Moonlight-Blueberry wine, Berry Gold-Pineapple, Mango & Strawberry Wine, and White Wonderland-Chardonnay. The goal is to have Sha’vie Wine Collections in a wine bar, restaurant and stores in the near future!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business is never a smooth road. With inflation hitting an all-time high and shortages with almost all my ingredients it has been a struggle to keep up with the demand and inventory. Also, it has been a struggle getting things completed at the winery so I can obtain permits to open the building.
We’ve been impressed with ShaVie Wine Collections, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My husband and I have several businesses. Xclusive Gaming Entertainment (video game truck), T and V’s Auto (trucking), Story Travels (travel agency) Dynamic Staffing Resolutions (staffing agency). So we are very busy individuals. What sets Sha’Vie Wine Collections apart is that Sha’Vie Wine Collections wines is that we produce, bottle and distribute our own product. Most wine companies outsource each task but Sha’vie Wine Collections tasks are distributed in-house by our own team members. We are most proud that we have continued to maintain production throughout these hard times and creating exotic wine flavors. We offer mobile winery & bar service, special mini wine bottles for special occasions and of course all 6 flavors of the wine to choose from.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The advice I have for someone starting out is don’t give up. Believe in you dream enough to continue to push through no matter what adversities you come across and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
