Meet Tiffany Alexander of Tif DancFit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Alexander.

Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I wanted to be in a profession where I wasn’t sitting at a desk. I have always been active in sports and activities since I was a child. So the idea of being still was never in my vocabulary. After I finished college I had found an interest in working at a gym. I watched aerobic classes and trainers help members with their fitness goals and I knew then I was in the right place. My passion is helping individuals with their health and wellness. It was that passion that inspired me to become a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. As I continued growing and understanding the profession and the industry I begin creating my own style by developing programs and events that my clients would love. Now I have my own business called Tif DancFit.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No and no! (Laughing) My road wasn’t smooth. I had experienced some financial struggles, tried different ideas that didn’t work, and attempted opportunities that wasn’t successful. It was hard because I didn’t want to feel like I was in a box and repeating what others around me are doing. I wanted to stand out. No client is the same. I tried creating classes and events that would have potential clients interested in joining my program. It was challenging because I have to consider their needs. I believed in what I wanted to do for my clients. At times I had to sacrifice my time and money to invest in what I believed in that will help them achieve their goals. I used my struggles as a learning experience to better myself in my career.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tif DancFit?
My business is Tif DancFit. I provide dance and fitness services to help my clients with their health and wellness goals with my custom programs and events. I am a dance and fitness instructor that specializes in post-rehabilitation, kickboxing, core, flexibility, nutrition and senior fitness. I am also a licensed physical therapist assistant. I am an advocate for Women’s Health and have hosted multiple events in the community to bring awareness with certain diseases to include: cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, arthritis/ lupus and diabetes. I have my own special series that I incorporate in my programs and they are the Injury Prevention Series on Joint Pain and the Y-Fit Series involving the Key Components of Fitness. I am known and set apart for thinking outside the box.

I try to make lemonade out of grapes and let everybody outside my box figure it out. (Laughing) What is amazing is that my clients see my drive with helping them and they are very supportive with what I do for them so much that they keep coming back. I call them my TDF Repeat Offenders. My brand is unique. My clients see me as a hero to them BUT they also know that I am human and have my own personal challenges which make them relate more to me on a personal level and I like that because I believe the best investment is in people. No matter how big or small I am there to celebrate their victories and embrace their struggles. They also know that I don’t play and what I do for them is real and fun at the same time. I am there to hold them accountable toward keeping them focused on their goals. I am so proud of them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck. What I do believe in is opportunities. What I mean by this is when an idea or a resource presents itself then I have a choice to take that and make it an opportunity. If it turns out good then I am grateful. If it turns out bad then I am humble to except the outcome and use it as a learning experience for a better opportunity next time.
