Community Highlights: Meet Andrea Boone of Sneaky Peach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Boone.

Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
If I had to envision where I started it was probably the day my mom let me wear sneakers with my pretty dress. For as long as I can remember I have been a girly tomboy. I literally can go from being an overdressed with all the flowers, frills, and leather with scrappy snakeskin print heels. On another day I will have on a white tee, dark denim, and my favorite AJ1s.

The pandemic has really taking my creative vision and businesses to the next level. On an every day I am a hairstylist and one day I went down a rabbit whole and starting to tell a client about my dreams of owning a sneaker boutique. I use to shop at Wish located in Little Five Points in high school in the early 2000s and I have dreaming that dream ever since. During that conversation, we mentioned possibly collaborating and as we begin to talk about the two things we had in common which were Sneakers and we were both from Georgia. I was like OHHHHH let’s call in SNEAKY PEACH.

As time ran its course that idea of collaboration dissolved and I was left with another great idea sitting in my head. I couldn’t let it die. This felt different than some other things that I wanted to do. I was still surrounded by samples from a manufacturer sitting in my closet that constantly reminded me of how close I was to seeing that dream come to life.

So one day I made a call and placed a big order for merch and Sneaky Peach is outside. I have seen this hat be worn in LA, Hawaii, London, Florida, Chicago, North Carolina, Las Vegas, Miami, and New York.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As I mentioned before it hasn’t been a smooth road. I had to dissolve a partnership that I had begin to really enjoy but it just wasn’t going to work out… I had to ensure that legal documentation was in place that stated that I was on the owner of the brand.

I invested and lost money in companies that couldn’t execute the idea I had for the logo. I invested and lost money in companies that sent poorly made apparel and hats.

Although the good days have outweighed the bad days. LET THE CHURCH SAY: “I won’t complain”.

My hardwork is beginning to pay off.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sneaky Peach?
Sneaky Peach is a brand that celebrates the freshest of the south. We all know that the south has been a trendsetter for so many industries but if the topic comes up on who the freshest is it will be ATL. It’s like the babies come out of the womb rocking the newly released Jordans lol.

Sneaky Peach was planned to be a brand for female sneakerheads but the LOGO is so dope that men have taken to it and now it is a UNISEX brand.

I did an official launch in the great city of ATL to celebrate what we call 404 Day. I ran a campaign on social media to build the anticipation for the launch of the official 404 trucker hat. I did a pop-up shop at a sneaker boutique. It was perfect they were known for hosting block party every Saturday so I popped in on April 2. I pulled out all of the bells and whistles. I decorated the space to make shoppers feel that southern hospitality. I had a rocking chair, candy apples that looked like peaches, peach cake pops, decorative peaches were sitting in baskets, string lights, mason jars, floral arrangements, and they even let me bring my DJ @saundaerowe744 so that she could play all of the ATL favorite hits.

I would not sell one hat till I heard Jermaine Dupri say

“Welcome to Atlanta where the players play
And we ride on dem thangs like ev-ery day Big beats, hit streets, see gangsters roamin
And parties don’t stop ’til eight in the mo’nin”

I pulled up at about 4:11 pm that day and there was a line out the door. I literally sold over 100 hats in an hour.

I am currently building the brand and gaining new followers. I have apparel available for sale online at www.sneakypeachatl.com and I will continue to do pop-ups so that I can introduce the brand to strangers. They say I’m the new logo for the city.

My long-term goal is a store-front Sneaky Peach boutique with shoes and apparel.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
