Hi Carolyn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my business after my mother had a stroke on Mother’s day May 20, 2020. After my mother had her stroke she could no longer speak or walk. Due to her immobility, she would develop fluid in her left arm and both legs. The Orthopedic nurses taught me how to do Lymphatic massages on her to relieve the pain.
I became so fascinated with the lymphatic system and plastic surgery I wanted to know what I could do at home that would allow me to work at home and help people. Body Secrets was born in November 2020. I started educating myself and started working part-time with a physical therapist to learn my craft. I started taking classes and received my certification in body contouring and in lymphatic drainage massage. Thus Body Secrets was a business!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I started during Covid so business has its ups and downs. My struggles has made me stronger. It’s hard during the pandemic keeping people making consistent services. It eventually smooths out but there are always slow times.
