Check Out Diaja Renee’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diaja Renee.

Hi Diaja, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been doing hair since a little girl. I started off in middle doing my friend’s hair for fun. Doing individual braids and trying different braiding styles. I’ve always had a passion for hair and beauty. Over the years I’ve worked 9-5 but still did hair on the side. In 2019 my job were laying people off so I had to find something quick! I started doing hair full time and perfected my craft. Of course building, my clientele was a little ruff the first couple of months, but I overcame it. I am a self-taught hairstylist. The key to being a successful hairstylist is keeping up with all the new trendy styles, or even creating your own! My business has been growing tremendously since 2019. It was nothing but God.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. Every business has its ups and downs but it’s up to you to keep going. There have been times where entrepreneurship became too much, specifically with the business side of things. You can provide great service all want but if your business isn’t in good standing, it can get very overwhelming. That’s if you want to be a legit business owner. Tax documents, annual renewals, etc. was a huge challenge. I just remember that I prayed for this moment and to keep in mind nothing worth having comes easy. Generational wealth is the forever goal.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist that specifically specializes in wigs and sew-ins! I do offer other services such as dread retwist, ponytails, natural styles and even eyebrows! I’m known for slaying laces and of course the baby hairs. Baby hairs are like my signature. Lol. You can lay a lace but baby hairs create the look. It can make or break the style. I’m most proud that I’ve come this far, Atlanta is the next big step for me. Celebrity stylist in the making.
