Community Highlights: Meet Jasmine Duncan of JD Virtual Assistance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Duncan.

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Over the years I’ve worn many hats that have gotten me to where I am today. From being a makeup artist to a beauty influencer. Currently, I’m a micro lifestyle influencer, a Hooters Girl and most importantly, the owner and operator of JD Virtual Assistance. I started JDVA earlier this year after stumbling across a TikTok about others doing the same thing. They were all starting online businesses and really making a difference in their spaces and I realized I had the capacity to do the same. So I started doing research and I launched fast and started taking off and I’m still just getting started. Since viewing that TikTok, I’ve dived head first into the world of business and being a business owner and I’m never looking back. It’s the best thing I could have ever done for myself and I’m so excited to watch the rest of my journey unfold.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been some challenges along the way. I’ve had to teach myself new programs, marketing and all sorts of other skills that most people go to school for but I’ve learned so much on my own and still am every single day. The online space is very vast and constantly expanding and I’m constantly doing my best to keep up with it.

We’ve been impressed with JD Virtual Assistance, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
JD Virtual Assistance is a business solutions service offering social media marketing and daily operations assistance to small businesses. In simpler terms, I help small business owners with their social media presence as well as with their back of house operations such as creating systems for them or answering emails.

I’d say my passion for what I do really sets me apart from others in the Virtual Assistance space. A lot of people do it just for the money or aren’t really interested but I’m truly in love with what I’m doing. It’s so awesome helping others build their dreams and help them market it just like I’ve done for myself.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
There’s a lot of risks involved with starting your own business and fear honestly. But I feel like the reward far outweighs the risk! Honestly, I think if you don’t take risks you risk staying stagnant forever in business and in life. Every risk I’ve ever taken has gotten me to where I am now and I’d say I’m in a pretty great place!
