Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Carlton.
Hi Megan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my modeling journey at the start of 2019 when I realized the importance of having and maintaining self-love and confidence. I’ve always been intrigued with modeling and fashion, but it was when I took a moment to value loving myself fully and seeing myself as a muse before I decided to embark on my new journey as a Freelance Model. As each year passes, I have learned, transformed, and grown into a strong young woman with a dream! Today, I am proud to say that I am still growing and improving my art through collaborations with photographers in my area, at-home photoshoots by myself, and also working with other models within my niche. I will forever be grateful for all of my past and future endeavors that have prepared me to not just model, but to inspire!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy road for me. Juggling college, work, and modeling can truly take its toll and can become a bit discouraging. However, one of my favorite songs by Mary Mary called Can’t Give Up Now is a song that has helped me during the tough times and reminds me of my strong faith in God and myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I am a full-time college student majoring in Nursing with a minor in Leadership Development. During my time in college, I have become a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and a servant leader inside and outside the classroom. Not only do I understand how to lead, I also understand the importance of listening and being a follower. I have learned so much about myself and life throughout my experiences, and I believe that level of openness and compassion is what truly sets me apart from others.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that there is a multitude of opportunities, people, and places to experience and learn from. Although it can be a bit fast-paced from what I am used to, it is still a great city that I enjoy experiencing and visiting.
