Meet Adjoa Darkwa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adjoa Darkwa.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The start of my story as a business owner happened during the pandemic. My parents have a business of their own and I was helping them out with it as well. I basically became their assistant. Throughout quarantine, I had a personal struggle with weight gain and skin issues(since we were stuck on how to quarantine. I was inspired to start my own business that catered to improving wellness and addressing skin issues. In fact, my drive came from really being proactive and interested in the aspects. of becoming an entrepreneur regardless of the global pandemic. I was still in college during this time and usually, after my online courses, I would start researching and figuring out what my niche would be in the market at that current moment. The more research I did the more I grew closer to my goal to begin the launch of my business. With the support of my family, I was able to gather the resources that placed me in a wonderful position today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ll be very honest, the road wasn’t all that smooth. Mostly there was a lot of trial and error. Even though I’ve done extensive research, I still make mistakes. I take it as a learning experience and move on with more wisdom. Most of the struggle was gaining customers. I also struggled with marketing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently specializing in clinical research. I’m also continuing my studies in medical school. I am known for being a clinical research assistant as well as an entrepreneur and an upcoming Real Estate developer,

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
A quality I know is important to my success is discipline!! Being able to obtain self-efficacy will take you a long way. Self-advocating, being able to decipher what works for you, and not following the crowd are important.
