Rising Stars: Meet Aniyah Serinity

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aniyah Serinity.

Hi Aniyah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was raised in North Atlanta, GA; home to some of the most talented creatives in the industry. I was raised most of my life by my mother, who always supported and pushed me creatively, from enrolling me in dance classes to buying my first camera. From a young age, I knew there was no limit to what I could create. I went from being a little girl who played in makeup to an adult collaborating with some of the biggest makeup brands I used to beg for in the store. As far as my content creation journey, I began as a creative director and editor for my school’s video production program. Through this, I fell in love with being behind the camera and took on my own projects, teaching myself about photography, graphic design, and the ins and outs of content creation. Like many people, during quarantine, I lost my job and searched for more creative outlets and opportunities to grow. This began the start of my business and modeling/influencing journey.

@SerinityGraphics is my graphic design business, where I offer all the digital necessities for other businesses, including banners, logos, card designs, etc.

@AniyahSerinity is my name on all platforms, where I work with so many other creatives based all around the country, and produce content as an active influencer.

After spending so long behind the camera, I was motivated to get in front of it. It wasn’t until the end of my senior year of High School when I booked my first photo shoot with a photographer I’d never met and was so shocked at how comfortable I’d become in front of a lens that wasn’t my own. That photoshoot was the one that made me say to myself “Yeah, you can do it all and then some.” Being a model, especially during the time I started was a little intimidating. I’m only 5’4 and could barely even walk in heels at the time. I started with print, then was casted to walk in my first fashion show in December 2021. With no real training, it felt so surreal to experience auditioning and walking in front of a crowd. I knew print, and I was comfortable in front of a camera, but the runway was a whole new challenge. I can honestly say I’ve grown so much since then, but still have a lot of work to do. In the past year alone I’ve hit so many milestones, from my first publication to being casted in 2022 LA Fashion Week.  Modeling is one of my favorite things to do, and I’m the proudest of how much it’s helped my confidence.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting here hasn’t been the smoothest journey. With that desire to do it all came those periods where I was highly stressed and thought “Maybe I’m taking on too much.” Being a full-time student with a huge workload and experiencing more independence living across the country, I became extremely overwhelmed. I took a break from my business “Serinity Graphics”  and began to prioritize my mental health and being a student. Though this huge change did come with some self-doubt, it pushed me to be even more intentional about my rebrand and the changes I want to make moving forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My business will be relaunching this year, July 1st @SerinityGraphics on Instagram.

How do you define success?
Success for me will always be about growth. Every new challenge I take on, I think about how I can execute and produce something better than what I put out before.
