Today we’d like to introduce you to Joi Allen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My business started with my kids. I was that mom who threw parties every year with a different theme. After people attended my kid’s parties they would want me to decorate their kid’s parties. At first, it started as a small side hustle because I still was working a 9 to 5. After having more kids and my parties/installs got bigger. Then I realized this could be an actual business. I left my job and started investing in classes to better my skills which turned into a whole business.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think the biggest struggle for me was learning about how to work smarter and not harder. At first, I would arrive to events blowing up balloons and trying to install the same day with a limited amount of time being stressed out. I then learned about pre-prepping and transporting the balloons already together. This gave me more time and space to take more events in one day.

I am a balloon artist. My company specializes in balloon decor. I pride myself in developing my skills and brand to keep the quality of work at a level that speaks volumes to my clientele. I love to create unique designs which bring my client’s visions to life and make their parties stand out.

Even though I have been doing this for a while, I get nervous with every event. I’m always scared that all my balloons will pop before or after the event lol. I know they’re not because we use top-quality balloons and care with every event. It’s just my nerves getting the best of me.
