Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Fowlkes.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I actually started a long while ago now, back in my junior year of high school I released two projects and got into photography around the same time. Lately, I’ve been focused on getting back to the scene but in a more fulfilling way. I used to throw shows and parties fairly often, but I’ve had to take a bit of a step back so I can reflect on the directions I’m going.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t exactly been smooth but anything that comes easy isn’t worth having, you know? I’m just grateful to be where I’m at, and for everyone who supports my viewpoint in regard to music and filmmaking.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a musician and videographer. I don’t really separate the two because both of those avenues I specialize in, so when it comes down to it they’re one in the same. I’m proud of the fact that I’m able to create the films that I want for my music without having to outsource to other creatives who may not grasp the vision that I want to pull off, though my work that I’ve had helped on have been the most successful. What sets me apart is my creative direction in all avenues, so basically when it comes to my music and filmmaking it’s already set apart because of who I am.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
My favorite book right now is the kybalion, by the three initiates. Some of the concepts outlined in the work might be a little hard to grasp for the laymen but it was absolutely helpful for getting my mind back on track. Other than that I’m really into lectures by the philosopher Manly P Hall and Dan Atrell.

- Features are $100 including mixing and mastering, flat rate for both verses and hooks/choruses
