Check Out Alexis Lewis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Lewis.

Hi Alexis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I grew up in Miami FL, overtowne where I lived with my mother brother, my dad and two sisters. We grew up in poverty but my mother worked really hard to take care of us. There was a lot of violence in my household. Fast forward, my mom moved us to College Park where I attended North Clayton Middle School for 8th grade and attended North Clayton High school throughout High school. Life had gotten a little better but the fights continued up until my dad abandoned us my 10th-grade year to go back to Miami. I am now 32 years old and I have two children that I love dearly. I am blessed with a wonderful husband as well and we make it our mission to love, honor, and respect one another. Having my own show has been a wonderful gift because I get to help people in more ways than one. I don’t ever want to use my voice for any other reason but to help people. As doors open, that gives me an opportunity to help more people and it’s a role that I not only honor but also cherish.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life for me has almost never been smooth. I grew up in a house of violence. My mother, younger brother and I would have to stay over relatives’ houses and sometimes they would not want us there. I didn’t get to really enjoy high school because I had two jobs just to help my mom. As an adult, I lost my home, my vehicle everything and at that point of my life I had to die to my pride, I had to really learn how to pray and have faith. I was like “ no way this is going to be my life forever “

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a mentor, and I encourage others to keep going. Having my own show allows me to connect with the viewers who have been abandoned, neglected, or any kind of trauma and give them hope that someday they will experience a better life, that they don’t have to be stuck there. “ Faith Talk” is the name of my show, exclusively viewed on hhn.tv and it is where we “ talk faith. I don’t have anything that I’m most proud of as of yet, I am still striving to be better each day and to help more people out of their situations. The one thing that sets me apart from others is that I actually care more about people than I do myself. I sit amongst actual famous people and truth is many of them don’t care about others at the core of their hearts they only care about the “ money “ I just want us all to be in better circumstances, I can’t live in a mansion and not build homeless shelters, organizations that help others it just wouldn’t sit right with me.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For those of you who are just starting out, you may see others making it, or no one is watching your page, Keep going, keep sharing, don’t compare yourself to others or where you want to be. Focus on today, be grateful for today, get healing from all of your hurt, and pain because someday you will be where you want to be and you don’t want those things to hinder you once you’ve reached the goals that you wanted to reach.
