Today we’d like to introduce you to Dekyra Jones.
Dekyra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am the owner of Darre’ Dior Collections. My name is Dekyra Jones. Starting my collegiate journey in Fashion and Merchandising was always a dream of mine from a young age. I watched my mother with her modeling agency and I knew I loved fashion. Growing up, it was hard to find trendy and stylish clothing in my size being curvy and I knew that I needed to do something about it.
In 2019, I knew it was time for me to pursue the goals I’ve always had. At the age of 19, while attending a campus event, I fainted and was rushed to the hospital. After multiple tests, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My world has completely flipped around at the start of the beginning of the best part. Due to extended hospital stays and treatment, I decided to take a semester off from school to focus on her health. With more time on my hands and maintaining monthly treatments, I was able to focus on my first love: fashion.
After being out of school for a semester, I use that time to rebrand my brand. In January of 2020, I rebranded Darre’ Dior Collections.
I want to say to the individuals that are reading my story that no matter what life throws at you do not give up on your dreams. Although it has been a tough obstacle to face, I continue to live my life and go after my dreams, With not giving up and finding peace, God has blessed my business and my personal life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
During the time of launching my brand, I had a few hiccups with finding my target audience and how to reach them. Also, had a few trials and errors with product quality. All these things helped me to dissect how I wanted to run and execute my business. I believe for anyone starting a business, the biggest struggle is trying to be so perfect that it stalls your progress in the business. Enjoy the journey, do not try to be perfect with owning any type of brand.

Darre’ Dior Collections specializes in quality and trendy women’s clothing sizes small-3x. Darre’ Dior is a fashion and lifestyle brand that creates uniqueness, sexiness, and boldness despite the size. We also help individuals start their own business, by providing information and verified vendors for individuals. I am most proud of achieving my goals despite the obstacles I’ve faced with being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. What sets Darre’ Dior apart from others is I provide my customers with excellent customer service with a personal touch. This includes providing styling advice to their styling needs.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Something that makes me happy is being able to inspire others that no matter what life throws at you, you can always win in the end. Another thing that makes me happy is building confidence among others. Many people know that I’m really big on having confidence and loving yourself despite your flaws (What Darre’ Dior stands on). Showing up as “HER” every time is what I stand on and makes me happy. Being confident is about making room for growth and change in your life and encourages growth within the lives of others.
I will be launching an “I’m HER” T-shirt line on July 29th, 2022.
