Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Hitson & Kimberly Williams.
Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Joint Heirs Magazine is a God-given vision.
It was all divine. The vision was founded in 2015. I shared the vision with my sister Kimberly Williams. She and I prayed about it, and the rest is History. Our editors and designer (Rochella Stewart, and Herbert Hearn) are both from the UK. The connection was definitely divine. I shared the vision with them, and they both knew exactly what I desired for the vision. These two amazing people then helped to bring the vision to fruition.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears has went into this vision. Starting out, I thought everything was going to happen overnight. But that’s not how it works. It takes time, finances, patience, dedication and much prayer, especially when you’re building your own brand.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We’re the CEO and publishers of JHM.
We specialize in publishing. We’re both ministers of the gospel.
JHM host major red carpet events, and we’re also the owners of Joint Heirs Magazine Blog Talk airing Monday’s and Friday’s. ”
Erica Hitson is also a (inactive) real estate agent for the state of Alabama, and Kimberly Williams is a professional cosmetologist with thirty years of experience.
We’re known for our brand—Joint Heirs Magazine.
We’re proud of all of our accomplishments. We started from the bottom, and we’re now eight years in. God is Good!
As black business womenpreneurs, considering everything that our ancestors had to go through, just for us to able to be where we are today, it motivate us even more, and makes us strive even harder.
What sets us apart? We’re the first Africian American (identical) twin sisters, that are independent black-owned. JHM–is in the USA and the UK, and we’re growing.
We are a family-oriented magazine. We’re working our own lane. JHM shines the light on gifts, talents, businesses, ministries and entrepreneurs not just locally. But globally, from all walks of life.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with our husbands, and family, being grateful, and helping others. Being with family is so important. We’re appreciative of everything that people do for us because people don’t have to be nice. But Shining the light on others, and helping others gives us Joy!
It blesses our heart to be a blessing.
