Today we’d like to introduce you to Shayne Bowen.
Shayne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always wanted a clothing line I tried starting one with a family member and friend and neither situation worked out it was around 2012 when I got into fashion, street wear and shoes. it wasn’t until after two failed attempts in 2013 and 2015 and two sons later that I finally was able to create a brand on my own and create generational wealth for my children. After having my two kids and also wanted to provide a better lifestyle for them that I came up with “7evin Sainnts couture” which are the two names of my sons Sevin and Sainnt. not only did I name it after them but I also made them owners of the business as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After some of my trials and tribulations when it became my turn to do it I had an idea of the direction I wanted to go in and my targeted audience. But with the influx of people buying online and using social media for advertising and a market place it was a learning process on trying to master those platforms to get the best results for the brand and exposure. Learning how to market my brand and how to put it out there was maybe the toughest part.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
While running the business, I’m currently in school to become a mechanic. To my friends and family, I’m most known for my creativeness, intelligence and sense of humor. I’m most proud of being a dad it changed me a lot in ways I didn’t see it change many people, it made me smarter, wiser and more eager to break the cycle in my family. The thing that separates me the most from others is my mindset and my understanding of the life and situations from a 360 perspective.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is a subjective term that people use to compare what they have to the next person and to define their goals and achievements.
