Meet Katie Bollinger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Bollinger.

Hi Katie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a stay-at-home mama with a now four year old son. I started The Vinyl Peach in 2019 after having my son in 2018. I loved buying custom clothes for him to wear, so after chatting with one of my influencer friends about the Cricut machine, I bought my own, when a Black Friday deal was released in the fall of 2018. I started just making items for friends and family. Then I started posting in some Facebook groups for exposure and a blogger in Atlanta reached out to me to make custom wine glasses for an event. From there, my business started to just take off. The next step was creating a Facebook page and posting items I made, so people could just order from there. Summer of 2019, I built an Etsy shop (www.thevinylpeach.com), which has grown to contain many different listings. Not only do I still create Vinyl products, but I also do Sublimation, which is ink infused into the item of choice. 3 years later and I am still loving what I do and I get to do it all while being home with my kiddo! 🙂

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road because Covid slowed down some of the production of the blank items I order for my business. Plus, when having a child, he’s always my first priority, so balancing a home based business and an only child is not always easy.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am mostly known for can coolers, which is my best seller on Etsy. For the longest time, custom Starbucks was the most popular.

I also create shirts, crewnecks, stickers, decals, custom faceless portraits, and much more.

I am most proud of starting a business from scratch and learning how to use the machines and make the items on my own, with a little help from YouTube of course.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t think luck had anything to do with my business success. I just knew I wanted to have a business and worked really hard to make it successful.
