Hi Maysan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey with The Honey Lounge began not too long ago, but it all feels very natural as if I did the same work in a past life or something. I’m originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and a California girl at heart. But at the end of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I decided to relocate to Atlanta. Honestly, it was an impulse decision but it felt like the right thing to do. I was blessed enough to be able to purchase a home in this beautiful city. It was unplanned for me but the universe knew exactly what it was doing. Amid all the chaos, I was craving some peace, and Atlanta was that place for me. I went from working full-time for a company that I loved, to resigning and having all the free time in the world. In an effort to improve my mental health, I leaned heavily towards my holistic health practices and picked up some hobbies. With so much free time on my hands, I don’t think I ever learned so much in such a short amount of time. I learned that almost any ailment, in the mind, body, or soul, can be healed using topical or oral herbs. I was very intrigued by everything I discovered. I got to experience first-hand how incorporating herbs into one’s life can transform it for the better. When you become aware of the transformation, it’s truly a magical experience. My skin has never been softer because I use shea butter daily. My mind has never been sharper because I consume ginkgo biloba and gotu kola daily. I developed a strong desire to share what I learned about herbal healing with the world, so The Honey Lounge was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Creating The Honey Lounge hasn’t been a smooth road and there have been many challenges along the way. However, overcoming these challenges has been so rewarding. As an empath, I have a lot of feelings and can pick up on energies instantly. With so much negativity going on in the world, it’s hard not to constantly feel low and helpless. One of the biggest challenges I had to overcome in the past was the challenge of zoning out all the negativity going on in the world around me and not allowing it to deter me from my goals. That also includes negativity from people around me who may subconsciously be projecting their fears onto me. I’m an extremely private person. I don’t personally use social media so I don’t have much contact with people outside my inner circle unless it’s business related. Spending a significant amount of time in solitude helped me overcome my challenges. I learned how to observe and not react. I also learned that keeping my energy reclusive allows me the peace and purity I need to connect with my higher self and produce great results in my life as well as my business.

I like to think of The Honey Lounge as a beauty, health & wellness brand. We specialize in herbal healing products. Herbal healing can be defined as the practice of using herbs, either topically or orally, to heal the mind, body, or soul. “Love your body” is a mantra we live by and our mission is to make every woman feel great about their body when using our products. We currently offer a series of herbal skin care products with future plans to add other fun, herbal wellness products to the collection.

Nothing in my life is forced and with The Honey Lounge branding and products, I truly feel like it’s an organic, effortless reflection of my passion.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
As cliche as it sounds, my family has been my best support system. I feel so blessed to have both of my parents support me in everything I do business-wise and in life in general. It makes the wins so much more rewarding when I know I’m making them proud. My older brother and younger sister have also been instrumental in my continuous progress. My sister helps me with day-to-day operations and my brother always offers his sage advice. I’m eternally grateful.
