Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaniya Stiggers.
Hi Kaniya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a child, I have always had a passion for children and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in childcare. I started babysitting around the age of ten and the remainder of grade school. Initially, I wanted to become a pediatrician or pediatric nurse. During my first few semesters of college, I worked with a couple of daycare companies and landed my first opportunity to be a full-time nanny. I gained more experience, learned all these wonderful things about childcare, and earned some certifications. I loved it but I knew there was a greater purpose for me. So, I took a break from school and the nanny agency to join the military (U.S. Army Reserve). Fast forward, I return home from duty and I officially start my own childcare business; Sprout + Flourish LLC. Today, I am currently a business owner, full-time student, full-time nanny, and reservist.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Generally speaking, an individual that owns a business is referred to as an “entrepreneur.” Honestly, that title scares me a little because I don’t want to be perceived as anything other than serving my purpose. Knowing that I am fulfilling my purpose in life is what makes the journey so smooth. I am not saying it’s easy, but there is so much beauty in those struggles and obstacles.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sprout + Flourish LLC?
Sprout + Flourish was inspired by my love for sunflowers. The meaning was established by its significance to the growth and livelihood of children. Here at Sprout + Flourish, we believe that helpful knowledge, effective guidance, and a healthy upbringing will sprout success in youth. How they choose to utilize those resources with flourish their futures. We are currently known for our full/part-time nanny services and we specialize in childcare development.
While still offering our private nanny and group nanny services, we are striving to open our very own daycare locations in the near future. Our ultimate goal is to have a thriving childcare business that provides an abundance of resources for children and families. The evolvement of our programs, educational services, nanny/sitter services, team of childcare professionals, and much more is what sets our company apart from others.
How do you think about luck?
Over the years, Sprout + Flourish has established a great deal of clientele. We are pretty “lucky” to always be booked and busy. There is such a high demand for services, the number of families we assist nearly out number our staff. Fortunately, we are actively working on expanding our team.
