Today we’d like to introduce you to Karla Baldini.
Hi Karla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been in law enforcement since the age of 20. After moving to Atlanta, I found my calling working as a trainer for the PD and met Paul. He and I were (are) like-minded and realized we shared a similar background. We both have a love for music and food and beer and became fast friends. Around 2012, we started working together on a project that would help high-rise building teams prepare for the worst case scenarios. Fortress was born. We are now over ten years in and working all over the country and creating training teams in each region.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
COVID created a huge obstacle, but it forced us to revisit our training models, so it was a blessing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We help people feel confident in their safety and preparedness plans. We specialize in teaching them through hands-on, practical training so that under stress people revert to their training.
What does success mean to you?
Success can be many things… Happy family, healthy kids, wealth upon retirement, etc
but I think that Fortress is successful when we run a training and you really see a sense of confidence, lessons learned and true buy-in from the students/participants.
