Hi La-Tesia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was literally drowning in a deep dark road of depression and was advised to meditate but I took that advice and turned it into painting instead.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t, Their have been times when I a felt like my Art and me actually painting was a waste of time. I’ve been disappointed, underestimated and misunderstood and told that my work was too Urban?
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an ARTIST/Creative…who paints in all forms of acrylic, spray paint, and resin, I specialize in acrylic. I am know for my bold use of colors and the Afro ladies that I draw.
I am most proud of myself for painting my first Mural, selling half of my artwork in my first solo Art show and being a featured artist and having my work displayed for all to see!!
I think what sets me apart from others is that my art is truly my therapy and each time I paint it heals my soul!
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think not being afraid, being very vulnerable, and exposing yourself through your talent, that’s a risk in it’ self. You put yourself out there to be critiqued, judged and criticize by everyone! That’s a risk to me and it’s crazy but I love every minute of it!
