Life & Work with Angel Rivers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Rivers.

Hi Angel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I would always watch various Real Estate and home renovation television shows growing up, so the interest has always been there. However, I took a different career path. There were times when being a Real Estate agent would cross my mind, but I would let fear get in the way. Finally, in 20220 when the world went into a pandemic, I realized how temporary jobs were and that at any moment your job could be eliminated and that’s when the fear went out of the window.

I enrolled in Real Estate school and sacrificed juggling between a 9-5 job and my kids and went to school two nights a week from 6pm – 10pm. After seven weeks of school, I passed my final exam and went to take my board exam 24 hours later. The first time taking the test was difficult, I didn’t pass, but I didn’t give up either. I went right back and missed the mark by one point which was devastating. I decided to take a day to myself to study non-stop, then I went back to the test and like the saying says, the third time was a charm, I passed the test, and I cried tears of joy! At that moment I knew I had made one of the best decisions of my life!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road hasn’t been hard, but I have learned a lot! Real Estate can be very complex at times, and I learned that early while assisting my clients. At the time that I started, the market was very competitive so if anything, it was a challenge. I came into the business while it was a seller’s market so winning offers for my clients was not easy at times, but nevertheless, I was still able to see my client’s dreams become reality!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Real Estate is my passion! Knowing that I play a vital part in making people’s dreams become reality is a very rewarding feeling. I feel that what sets me apart from others is my dedication to my clients, I’m never not available. I understand that purchasing a home can be very intimidating so I’m always there when needed to talk, laugh, cry and most importantly pray with my clients.

I also fight until the end to ensure that we get the results that are desired. I remember being at closing and the seller’s agent told my client that she appreciates knowing that agents like myself are in the business for passion and not to just collect a check. The agent stated if had not negotiated and worked so hard on my client’s behalf to the very end the deal would have fallen apart.

What does success mean to you?
Success is choosing to give your dreams a chance by trying! Nothing beats a failure but a try. We for sure know what will happen if we don’t try but what if you do? At that very moment, you’ve given God the chance to show his glory! The Bible says that faith without works is dead, you have to have faith and put in the work! I always speak Jeremiah 29:11 over my life to keep me focused and motivated!

I have an amazing team that assists me, which allows me to continue to be successful, I know that there are greater things in store for myself, and my current and future clients.
