Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyasha Bennett, Nicole Isaacs and Tracy Betts.
Hi Nyasha, Nicole and Tracy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We (Nyasha Bennett, Nicole Isaacs and Tracy Betts) started off as three women who enjoyed throwing great parties. Our hobby turned into a passion. We figured it was time to evolve that passion into a business. After 15-plus years of planning and decorating events throughout metro Atlanta, we wanted a space of our own. Our goal was to provide our clients with a venue that incorporates most of their needs, and we believe we provide that at Vintage On 1st.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening Vintage On 1st was not easy. There were multiple obstacles. However, we overcame them. Finding a location was one of our biggest issues. There was a lot of red tapes concerning zoning and city ordinances. It was also challenging financially. There are a lot of unexpected expenses on top of the planned expenses. There were extremely long hours with renovation and planning. We overcame these challenges and we are running a successful event venue.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Originally built in 1916, the rustic charm and character of the space has been maintained in our recent restoration. Our main room can easily be transformed into a customized space. In addition to its stunning details, Vintage On 1st also offers a private Bridal suite, Groom’s room and access to a quaint caterer’s kitchen. More than being aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional, Vintage On 1st also includes chairs and a selection of tables.
We provide options for décor, catering and planning. If they choose, we can execute an entire event without our clients having to seek outside vendors.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Due to Covid-19, we have learned to think outside of the box. We have learned how to execute events to ensure that our clients and their guest remain healthy and safe. Covid-19n has taught us to celebrate every accomplishment, no matter how big or small.
