Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayden Simmons.
Hi Hayden, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
A few years ago, I traveled to France where I experienced some of the best charcuterie and fromage the world has to offer. I came back from that trip so inspired. I soon became the girl that brought charcuterie boards to every get-together. Around the Holidays in 2021, a few people asked if I would make boards for their get-togethers. And the rest is history!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel so blessed at how organically it has all come together. My community has supported me so well. Of course, there are challenges. The main challenge right now is dealing with inflation and figuring out costs. I want to keep prices reasonable.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artisan food curator. I specialize in grazing tables for events and parties that showcase the food or product in a visually stunning way. I’m known for sourcing local goods that aren’t only of excellent quality but supporting small businesses. I am most proud of the grazing tables I do for large events. It’s incredibly gratifying to see the final product and how it serves as the main attraction.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I certainly have. I’ve learned that people are more determined to gather than ever. When someone places an order I always ask if they are celebrating anything special. The majority of the time, the response is “Just getting together”.
